Interface Setup
Interface Setup for PCR-LEPCR-LE2
LAN (optional)
This interface is valid only when the optional LAN interface board is installed.
Attachment of the interface board
To use the LAN interface to control the PCR, middleware that supports the VXI-11 or HiSLIP protocol must be installed on the controller. The middleware is installed automatically by the VISA library.
There is a Web browser interface to the PCR embedded in the LAN interface board. You can configure the LAN interface settings from your PC's Web browser.
For information on topics such as connecting to your corporate LAN, your IP address, your host name, and security, contact your network administrator.
If you are using a host name (a Bonjour host name), you have to install Apple Bonjour.
LAN connection
Use a standard LAN cable (category 5 and straight) to connect the PCR to a network hub or router. Use a crossover cable when making a direct connection.
LAN configuration
Normally, you should set DHCP and AUTO IP to ON to set the IP address automatically.
1. Press CONFIG (SHIFT+OPR MODE) and then COM-I/F (F1). Then, set TYPE to LAN (F5).
2. Then, set the DHCP and AUTO IP settings.
For direct connections, set DHCP (CF30) to "oFF" and AUTO IP (CF31) to "on" and set the IP address automatically.
You cannot set the IP address from the panel. To set a fixed IP address, first set the IP address automatically, and then set a fixed address by accessing the PCR through a Web browser.
You can view the IP address on the COM-I/F screen in the PCR-LEPCR-LE2 series' CONFIG settings.
Warning
Possible damage to the equipment and electric shock. The LAN interface can be accessed from any place on the network. If necessary, configure the security settings. You can apply password protection for security, and you can restrict the IP addresses to limit the hosts. -> Setting procedure |
NOTE
The LAN interface should be shifted remotely by the command. Use the "SYSTem:REMote" SCPI command to set the RS232C interface to the remote state. Be sure to include this command at the start of the program when you are performing remote programming. |
Service request
The PCR is equipped with service request and serial polling functions.
LAN function
The PCR may require an Internet connection depending on how the PCR is accessed through a Web browser.

Restarting the LAN interface
When you keep pressing the "REBOOT" switch for more than 2 seconds, the LAN will reboot. However, the setting condition of LAN interface will not be changed.
This operation does not affect the PCR's panel settings. If the product is in remote mode, you can use panel operations to switch it to local mode.
Do not use the REBOOT switch carelessly during communication. It may cause to mis-operation.
Resetting the LAN interface
If you hold down the LAN reset switch for 2 seconds, the LAN interface settings (except the host name) are reset to their factory default values. It can be used when neither the security password nor IP address are forgotten.
This operation does not affect the PCR's panel settings. If the product is in remote mode, you can use panel operations to switch it to local mode.
Do not use the LAN RESET switch carelessly during communication. It may cause to mis-operation.
